Hreyfing AB, Rodga Säteri, Norrköping, Sweden
CEM test
The mare must present a negative CEM test before arrival at Hreyfing Icelandic Horse Center.
Owner’s declaration
The mare owner guarantees that the mare has not been in contact with any horse with a contagious disease during the last 6 weeks. Furthermore, the mare must not have been in contact with any horse infected with strangles or EHV-1 virus during the last 3 months.
The owner also confirms that the mare and any accompanying foal are healthy and in good condition.
The mare must be fully vaccinated against equine influenza and tetanus.
A certificate of negative vaginal bacterial test is required for mares that have previously had uterine infection or delivered a stillborn foal.
The mare must be unshod on all four feet.
The mare owner is aware that the mare and any accompanying foal are left at the station at the owner’s own risk. Hreyfing AB is not responsible for any injuries or accidents that may occur during the stay at the station.
Hreyfing AB reserves the right to carry out examinations and treatments deemed necessary in order to optimize the chances of pregnancy.
Breeding method
The breeding method used is artificial insemination with fresh semen (AI) or cooled transported semen (TAI).
The mare will be kept in a pasture paddock and should be accustomed to grazing upon arrival. The mare must also be dewormed within one week prior to arrival.
Hreyfing AB undertakes to
Care for the mare to the best possible standard during her stay and perform treatments and examinations necessary to optimize the chances of pregnancy.
Contact a veterinarian if required for the welfare of the mare, even if the owner cannot be reached. The mare owner will be responsible for the resulting veterinary costs.
Booking
Once the booking request has been received, an invoice for the booking fee will be sent.
Please note that the mare’s registration is only valid once the booking fee (deposit) has been paid.
Please also indicate approximately when the mare is expected to be inseminated. In case of limited semen availability, bookings are handled on a first come, first served basis.
Semen orders
Orders for semen to be shipped to another station must be sent to
Åsa Nevander (+46 705 83 21 97) via SMS no later than 09:30 on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
The order must include:
Requested stallion
Mare’s name and registration number
Full address and station number of the receiving station
The order is only valid once confirmed.
Delivery takes place the day after semen collection.
If the mare owner chooses to collect semen directly from Hreyfing Icelandic Horse Center, a packing fee of 200 SEK excl. VAT will be charged per shipment.
The receiving station must be connected to Mats Horse Transport or WTL.
The mare owner is aware that standard industry semen allocation priorities apply in case of semen shortage. This means that mares located at the stallion station are prioritized before transported semen orders, and mares already inseminated during the season are prioritized before mares not yet started. Semen shortage does not entitle the mare owner to any refund.
Note
The booking of the mare is only valid when the booking fee has been paid and the SIF breeding mare fee has been registered in Hestur.
Prices excluding VAT are listed on each stallion’s page. Additional costs may apply, such as bacterial tests, treatments and medications.
We look forward to welcoming you and your mare!
